Aaron Mayes
What’s up rbcstudents! My name is Aaron Mayes and I like to party, just kidding, but seriously… I am a 2013 rbcstudents summer intern. I just graduated from Kickapoo high school and plan on continuing my education at Missouri State University where I will either study video marketing or religious studies and get involved in student ministry. I grew up just south of Springfield in a small town called Highlandville and then moved to Springfield when I was 12. I enjoy playing guitar, racing dirt bikes, working on cars and hanging out with friends. I have been attending Ridgecrest since I was a baby. I was saved at a young age and have been continually growing in my walk with Christ ever since. I am excited to be able to be on staff with rbcstudents this summer! See ya around!
Alex Dowell
I
joined Ridgecrest as a believer and a member in 2009. Since then, I have
constantly been involved in the college/young adults’ ministry and have
volunteered at times with rbcstudents. I recently graduated from Drury
University with a degree in History and Secondary Education. Working with
students is something I greatly enjoy and am excited for the opportunity to
serve this summer as an intern. In the fall, I will be joining Campus Crusade
for Christ as a field staff intern at Missouri State University.
Some of my favorite hobbies
include running, biking, soccer, beach volleyball, reading, and listening to
music. I typically get up between 5:30 and 6:00 every morning and most people
find that weird. My favorite foods consist of any type of pasta, Chipotle, and
buffalo wings; most people find that pretty normal. I love Africa. I’ve been
there twice and want to go back again someday. The top three people I’d list as
the most inspirational in my life (besides Jesus) are: My friend and mentor
Regan Griffin, C.S. Lewis, and Marcus Mumford.
Cherith Campbell
What’s up I’m Cherith! I am a junior in college that left
her home in the greater Kansas City and moved in with Kate Leigh to spend the summer
with all of you! I’m studying business administration and marketing at
MidAmerica Nazarene University and I love it. I have grown up in the church
ever since I was born but it wasn’t until just a few years ago that I realized
I needed and wanted to make my beliefs my own. I was baptized when I was young
but I didn’t really understand the seriousness and full meaning of baptism. I
just did it because it was presented to me and my brother wanted to do it too
so we just kind of went along with it. Years after that when I was a sophomore
in high school I made the decision to be baptized a second time. My sophomore
year was a time where God really pursued me. That time of my life was when I
made my faith my own. My second baptism was really my first. When I was a kid
it was more of something I was supposed to do but when I chose to proclaim my
faith as 16 year old for the second time, it was legit.
I hope this blog showed you a little bit more about me. I
can’t wait to get to know you so for sure come talk to me! I have such a
passion for people and a love for youth so I am super excited to have this
opportunity to make memories with the rbcstudents!
Shelby Riddle
Hey
there! My name is Shelby Riddle and i'm so excited for this summer. I
have been going to Ridgecrest since I was young but I'm looking forward
to digging deeper into ministry by spending time with all the students
these next few months. I became a christian at a young age, but God has
really stretched me and helped me to see what exactly "being a
christian" means over the past couple years. Some things to know about
me: 1.) Spending quality time with people I care about and making good
memories is something really close to my heart. 2.) I usually embarrass
myself in public at least once a day, its just something I have come to
accept. 3.) It has been said that I could sit around and talk to a wall
if it would talk back, so if you ever want some conversation, I'm always
up for it. Im not very shy. Well, I'm looking forward to see the
changes and growth in each of us this summer! Ill see you around :)
